Chris Shaw Media Ltd collects uses and is responsible for personal information about you. When we do this we are the ‘controller’ of this information for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation and other applicable data protection laws.

When carrying out the role of Publishers Media Sales Representative we collect the following personal information that you provide to us:

We do not process any special category data.

Information provided by you to a Publishing company we represent.

Information from publically accessible sources examples:

Published in Press Releases, News Items, Newsletters, Magazine Articles (both print and digital), and Information available on your company website.

How we use your personal information:

We use your personal information for the following purposes: In connection with the sale of advertising.


Whether information has to be provided by you, and why?

This personal information Name, Job Title, Company Name, Business Address, Business Telephone, Business eMail is required to enable us to provide the service of Publishers Media Sales Representative. It will be required on any Contractual agreements example:  an Insertion Order when placing an order for the advertising space required. When we collect information from you, we will inform you whether you are required to provide this information to us.

We rely on legitimate interests as the legal basis for processing your information.

For example a Publisher has a relevant publication with feature articles that matches the technology sector / services provided by your company.

This data sharing enables us to provide you with information relating to the Publishers media.


We will share personal information with law enforcement agencies if required by applicable law.


We will not share your personal information with any other third parties without your consent.


Transfer of your information outside the European Economic Area (EEA):

It may be necessary to transfer your personal information outside the EEA or to an international organisation in order enter into a contract with / to respond to requests for information / connect with individuals within the Publishers organisation we represent for the publication of advertising.

The third countries that your personal data may be transferred: USA


These countries do not have same data protection laws as the United Kingdom and EEA. The European Commission has not given a formal decision that USA provide data protection that is substantially similar to those in the United Kingdom and EEA, however any transfer will be subject to your explicit consent; to perform a contract with you; in a manner that does not outweigh your rights and freedoms. We will not retain personal data that we process for any specific purpose for longer than 12 months.
